The Trial of Isiah
Out of many one. Today the many voices of Knicks fanatics and all bloggers from the four corners of the blogosphere are invited to cast there vote on the question of the evening.
Should Isiah Thomas be fired?
Which of course begs an ancillary question
Was and is Isiah Thomas a terrible coach?
These two questions raised this evening will be debated and tried before the viewing public by:
Counselor MODI
For the prosecution of Isaiah Thomas, and the position that Isiah Thomas should be fired
And
Counselor Statesman
For the Defense, who will attempt to put forth the case why Thomas should not be fired as Head Coach.
First as a short timeline, that all Knick fans know all too well, Isiah Thomas, took over as head coach in the summer of 2006 after the firing of former Head Coach Larry Brown. The Isiah Thomas coaching tenure during these two years has resulted in a 33W-49L season in 2006-07 and a 23W-59L season in 2007-08, all for a combined total of 56 wins and 108 losses in two years as the Knicks Head Coach.
During those two years at the helm, The Knicks were the subjects of many high profile incidents including the brawl against the Denver Thuggets, The Sptephon Mebury Awol, and the speculated Abandonment of the Isiah Thomas by the rest of the team upon Thomas’s failure to bench MeBury after his awol of the team.
Today, however, in this Cybercourt of blogger opinion, all today will have an opportunity to cast there ballot and achieve a verdict as to whether Isiah Thomas should be fired!
Thus in the great Roman-Greco-Latin Tradition of Socrates, Cicero, Ricky Martin, and Shakira, we present to you the cyber trial of the year.
People v. Thomas I (B/c a follow trial on whether Isiah should stay on will be conducted at a later date)
